| - A place like Perkins delivers you exactly what you're looking for. Consistency. While nothing on their menu fills in the blank in "this place has the best _______", just about all of their menu entries are decent.
I'm a breakfast guy, so I like to order off that part of the menu when I can. Their omelettes are very good - more filling than I always expect. For me, all eggs require toast, so I get a little sad when I see that you get ONE side with your breakfast. Well, I like hashbrowns (with cheese, of course), so I get that. THEN I have to add toast. Harrumph. I guess there's worse things in the world than racking up your order...
Our recent visit to Perkins was on a holiday (Valentine's Day - no, it wasn't a date) on top of being a Sunday at 10:30am. But, the glut of people in the lobby cycled through efficiently and we were seated in no time (not bad for a party of 6). Service was solid, considering how packed the place was.
Perkins is a solid place to grab some food, coffee, or pastries. While it's not the sexy "let's try something new and exotic" place, it's a good stand-by for a reliable meal with no surprises.
