Would never have stayed here to begin with, but flight canceled due to airport crash in San Francisco and this is where the airline sent us. We had my elderly parents with us.
As soon as we pulled up to hotel in Shuttle and saw 2 police cars there, I knew we were not in Scottsdale any longer. It was not a good feeling seeing shady people with drinks in their hands. I would have called cab and went back to Doubletree Resort in Scottsdale, if it was just my husband and I, but we had my 86 and 89 year old parents with us.
I called front desk manager from the airport requesting a room close to loby as my parents were elderly and had hard time walking long distance. I also asked if we could get rooms next to each other. She was very rude and said that she couldn't accomadate my request until we arrived at the hotel.
She booked us into rooms that were a very long distance to walk. The rooms were disguisting as they smelled like smoke. My husband called down to front desk and she gave us another room which wasn't next door to my parents and it also smelled like smoke. We then called again to complain and she called us back and said she could move us all to other rooms, that were cleaner and didn't have smell. By this time, I said forget it as we only were going to be in room for short time as flight was scheduled to leave at 5:30 a.m. Anyways, I sprayed lysol that I carry.
It looks like a lot of locals may stay here in summer as it was 115 out and rooms are cheap. Party atomsphere at pool at 9:00 at night.
We went to loby at 3:45 a.m. and different lady working desk and she offered us bag breakfast to go, which was nice.
Never again would we stay here!
