| - With high recommendations from some friends and the really high rating on Yelp, I couldn't wait to try this place. I love Greek food since the flavors are wonderful. Located in the Cosmopolitan and up two floors from the casino, the restaurant is eloquently designed and immediately gives you the impression of a high class establishment. Depending where you sit, you could have a great view of the strip. Of course, we didn't. When we were seated, the waiter explained to us that the dishes were prepared to be shared. He also explained that we would have to order away from the table when we chose our fish displayed freshly on ice near the kitchen. I was immediately struck by the high prices. I don't mind paying for high price as long as the quality is also high. We ordered a Mediterranean salad and Octopus. The salad was small and not special by any means. It didn't have any flavorful Greek seasoning. While is tasted alright, I could have made this at home and feed 20 more people for the same price. Certainly, the octopus was going to be good. The flavor was indeed very good, but the octopus was rubbery and chewy. For a upscale place, I expected better preparation. Another high cost disappointment. The fish we chose was indeed our selection, but the menu had no prices and they charged you by the pound. We had no idea how much our one fish was going to cost or even taste. While the waiter did do a good job to compare the fish to other familiar fish, I didn't see the purpose of choosing our own fish. Seems rather touristy. I don't pick my own cow when ordering a steak, do I? We ordered a couple of side dishes to go with it. The grilled vegetables again were nothing special. Just salted and grill and again a measly portion for the price. The fish came out displayed an a large dish with the most of the bones removed. It looked steam, rather than grilled and it tasted like it. No Greek seasoning to it either. Salted well, but again, I was disappointed with the lack of Greek flavor. Two appetizer, one fish and two side dishes was $300. We didn't drink any alcohol. Value for this meal was a big zero. Flavor while not bad lack Greek. Atmosphere was good, but overall fell well short of my expectations. Run, but run away from here. I don't get the high Yelp reviews I guess people want to rationalize a high rating for the high prices. I was disappointed and will not recommend or return.
