Honestly, I hate to bash on a local small business like this, but if you really are a "cupcake person" this place isn't very good. When I get a sugar craving I'll head over to Cookie and a Cupcake since its a one minute walk from my home and it is disappointment every time, I need to stop hoping it will change! Their standard cupcakes aren't very flavorful, buttercream is sort of bland (maybe they are using lots of shortening? idk!). I follow them on Facebook and they rarely have any special flavors, actually they seem to post more about "Churned" - an ice cream shop they own (which actually is awesome) even more than they post about their cupcakes. Its just odd because I follow other cupcake shops who make daily posts about their special flavors but Cookie and a Cupcake rarely even has anything out of the ordinary flavors they offer. If they aren't enthusiastic about their cupcakes, how can they expect anyone else to be? Seems like the effort isn't really there on the owners part, but fortunately for them Tremont is highly protective of their local small business owners and we don't have any other cupcake shops in our neighborhood, so that puts odds in their favor. My bottom line here is that their ratings are too high, not saying I'll never go back there again, but for larger catering events definitely do your homework and taste around at different shops and you will see a big difference. I can guarantee that.
