Hi.. first time to Pittsburgh.. seeing the game.. made online reservations here.
On arrival, we waited in a long line for valet parking in the hotel garage.. just an fyi... no gas stations near the hotel so get it before u park.. So waited in a long line (apparently the hotel was not prepared for the influx of guests), valet super polite but we were not provided with luggage carts. Several guests needed to make multiple trips to get out their belongings. Parking garage filled shortly after our arrival, so unsure how they accommodated additional guests and their cars. No staff available to assist with luggage. So be prepared to carry it yourselves.
The reservation desk. The staff again super polite.. we were given a warm cookie (provided to each guest on arrival ). Again no luggage cart available, no offer by staff to assist us, so we lugged our suitcases etc to our room.
The room.. we had a queen suite. Spacious.. clean. But... it was right next to the elevator shaft. So a ton of noise. When we went back to the lobby after dropping off our stuff, I mentioned it to the reservation clerk. He offered me comp'd parking for the extent of our stay. Fyi parking is $26/day. Still waiting in the email confirming the comp'd parking.
The hotel is pretty well located. 10 min walk to market square and Primanti Bros. Free public transportation to Heinz Field. Complementary shuttle driver to various spots in city on a first come first serve basis, but he or she wouldn't take us to the locale we asked to be driven to.
