I have been here a few times but only because it's the closest at the time. I understand the merchandise is only $1 and I'm sure the employees aren't paid enough but in the end it is a place of business, therefore it should be run as such. The shelves are never fully stocked, the lines are always long (not because people have too much but because the cashiers just don't put any rush into checking out), and the associates for the most part are kind but very unprofessional. I was there a few nights ago and I saw the majority talking to customers while playing music in their pockets. I let that go, whatever. But then I go ask a young woman for help finding a product and she tells the person she's speaking to on the phone to hold, doesn't even take 2 steps to say she doesn't see it but it should be there, and then continues to speak to the person on her phone telling them what I was looking for and carrying on the conversation. Absolutely NO help. The cashier, as usual, was very rude and almost threw the receipt at me without a single look. What is this? I will be going farther to a Dollar Tree that knows how to run a business. I have worked in retail, no matter what you're selling, I expect good customer service and at least a little decency.
