| - I went to this dealership to look at a very specific used vehicle. Not a Toyota. It had low mileage and was priced to sell. Now I think I understand why. First of all, they refused to fill my gas tank and instead issued an "IOU" if I were to return with the receipt. I drove it off the lot with the gas light on. The dealership agreed to take care of a dent and a missing cosmetic piece. The cosmetic piece was replaced with a piece that did not match the rest of my car and they said nothing to me about it until I asked. When picked up my car after these repairs, it had been sitting in the hot Arizona sun in August for probably the entire working day, not under the awning in the shade. I couldn't even drive it immediately. I had to park it under their awning and let it cool off (shift knob burned me). I was given some weathertec floor mats as an apology for the trouble I'd continually had with Toyota of surprise in such a short amount of time. I bought the car with no floor mats and no spare key, so this was REALLY the least they could do. I purchased an extended warranty with Toyota. So when I began having issues with my clutch, I thought I shouldn't be too worried. Wrong! I contacted Toyota and the woman on the phone was rude as sh to me. I was transferred several times and even had to call back a few times and talk to the same unpleasant woman. Everyone I spoke with at Toyota told me I have to take my car to the Hyundai dealership, but my extended warranty said to contact the dealership. I drove my car to the Hyundai dealership to find out I was supposed to take it to stupid Toyota. I have owned my used vehicle from Toyota of Surprise for less than two months and driven it less than 2,000 miles. To top everything off, the guy who took care of all my financial paperwork texted me asking me out on a date. Pft. This place is a bad joke. They don't care about their customers. One thing they're good about is saying sorry! Over and over and over again. I firmly believe Toyota of Surprise was aware of pending problems with the vehicle they sold me. And I am so disturbed by the quality of these people that I refuse to even take my vehicle up there again, despite having purchased an extended warranty with them. I would rather pay thousands of dollars for honest work from honest human beings. My car is still pretty sweet though.
*Update* my throw out bearing was bad and Larry Miller Hyundai Peoria is taking care of it under manufacturer's warranty. And how comical, the manager of Toyota Surprise got someone ELSE to respond to my review for him! If Toyota wanted to make amends with me, they have all my contact info (just ask the finance guy)!
*Update #2* I found the registration from the previous owner of this car and found him on social media. I contacted him for my car's spare key and he told me he gave to to Toyota of Surprise. Toyota of Surprise told me they didn't have a spare key to my car.
