| - 3 stars... 2 stars for most departments with 4 stars for the beauty area.
The first review by Stephanie is right about this particular Nordstrom. It sits beautifully in the new big wing of Sherway. It's a great layout and it's absolutely big. With large aisle ways, lots of natural light, and eye catching displays ... but the brands. What is going on?? This spot was lacking all the great brands and clothing that their Yorkdale or Eaton centre location has.
The 2nd floor is where you can find the Women's clothing, a tiny houseware area, kids, and their Bazille restaurant. I walked around the 2nd floor twice in hopes to find some sort of eye catching dress and ... no. I will admit that all the prices were reasonable with the most expensive one being a Bardot at $200. I guess if they're targeting the Bay clientele, they forgot to tell them and the Nordstrom marketing department.
First floor is where you'll find shoes, men's wear, and OH yes... the Beauty area! Before going into the good stuff, the shoe departments looks promising with its array of colours all showcased. Well, looks arent everything. Similar to the floor above, the brands I expected from Nordstrom was missing here too.
The only spark that shows the luxury that Nordstrom is known for is found in the beauty department. With the partnership of SpaceNK, you'll find brands like Sunday Riley, Tata Harper, Kevyn Aucoin, Nars, and Charlotte Tillsbury. The staff here is well educated about their brands and have some great thoughts. I was able to find so many different items with their help and guidance. I was first trying a particular foundation and it was all wrong for my skin type (I followed the hype!) but with their helpful eye, I was able to find the right concealer that would be better and better value to what I needed.
Overall, I feel Nordstrom in Sherway is not up to the same level as the ones I've visited in the USA. I just wish if they launched a Nordstrom, the Canadian cities don't get the diluted version of it.
