  • Let's see... Toronto is a great gelato city: Want genuine Italian options? Line up! Vegan? You got it! Asian-inspired? We got you covered! Want it in freak-shake form? No probs! It's admittedly difficult to differentiate oneself in the gelato ecosystem of this city. I appreciate the shops that go for the simple flavours and the facade of authenticity. This is what Gelato was going for, I suppose. but it got lost somewhere. I have tried multiple varieties, and they are all WAY TOO sugary and sweet. The showcased flavour barely surfaces in the wretched arm wrestle with the tooth-achingly sweet base. I appreciate that they keep the treats at the proper temperature; Not too cold, easily scoopable. But sadly Gelato may be trying to lower their input costs by loading their products with cheap sugar, not the premium ingredients for which they charge customers. Will not be returning. And I really recommend you don't waste money here.
