| - Pussy Cats Pole Dance is by far the best pole dance studio in the Phoenix area. Forget fancy studio spaces and high-end marketing, Nyla, the studio's owner, keeps her focus on the dance instruction. She is the only instructor in the area who has two decades of experience, performs regularly, and teaches her own classes, while continuing to update her certifications. Nyla's past dance experience is beyond compare, while she stays on the cutting edge of the latest dance techniques and trends. Not interested in pole dance? Perhaps you'd enjoy one of the studio's many additional sexy classes such as Belly Dance or Sexi Flexi. Pussy Cats Pole Dance incorporates elements of jazz, ballet, Pilates, yoga, reggae, salsa, belly dance, striptease, and just plain sensual moves to make you feel both fit and fabulously sexy. You've never worked out like this before! Whether you are a seasoned performer or a stay-at-home-mom who has never danced a day in her life, Nyla will assist you in achieving your fitness goals and challenge you to go further. As an instructor, Nyla has a knack for making modifications for all her students during a session. It is surprising how economical the studio's rates are for the type of training you receive here!
In addition to the workouts, Pussy Cats Pole Dance is concerned with safety first. Unlike some studios where each student uses her own pole throughout the class, Pussy Cats only allows for a certain amount of time spent on each pole. You won't be walking away with injuries, but you won't feel cheated, either! Nyla believes in safety and building skill through levels of progression as essential elements of any pole class. These are skills you can't acquire from watching a DVD.
I feel lucky that I found this studio. I wandered in a few months ago after many years of being out of shape and dealing with my own health problems. I was shocked at how comfortable I felt as a newbie and how quickly I began to not only move through the levels of the classes, but also at how my body responded to the exercises. I've lost weight, found renewed energy, and have regained overall strength. I'm not into working out at the gym, but I knew I wanted (and needed) to move. I was also leery about taking a class due to the number safety issues involved in pole. I feel blessed to have found a studio where safety and health is a top concern, yet the classes are so much fun, you don't even think about the safety elements much. They just become part of the overall experience. I would recommend a pole mini intro class ($25) or a non-pole class (only $15) to any woman who thinks she might want to get a feel for the type of dance at Pussy Cats.
