My townhome was in contract back in December. The inspection yielded "foundation issues". Well I couldn't believe it. I don't have wall cracks or anything like that in my home like you would normally see in a place that has foundation issues. I had a foundation company to come out and stayed that there is no problem with my foundation. Open door then sends their own foundation company and a separate structural engineer. Their foundation company stated that no work to be done just slight movement. Their structural engineer stated that I had above variance and needed three piers to prevent movement. I did my due diligence and got my HOA structural engineer to have a look. Low and behold no work is needed. Open Door just seems to find people that want to find work when there isn't to find. I felt like I was back in high school with he said she said business. I do realize that the company has a no buy policy in DFW for homes that have foundation issues but when there is no work to be done and it's within variance and code what else is there to do? Oh that's right nothing. Thanks Open Door for wasting my time.
