I went here for lunch with a friend. There were only people seated at 2 tables. We sat down and a nice young woman came over for our drink orders right away. Then we waited. And waited. It looked like there was only 1 waitress. She went past our table and said she'd be with us shortly before disappearing into a back room. When she came back out, she walked right past our table to a table where people had already been served. It looked like she was just standing there chatting with them.
By now it was around 1pm and I started feeling a bit shaky. I could not get the waitresses' attention so I got up and went over to her and told her I really needed to get some food immediately as I wasn't feeling well, adding. whatever the fastest thing would be. She said 'how about soup'. I said sure and went and sat down. At least 5 minutes passed and no one came to our table. Finally, the waitress came over...to take our order. I asked about the soup. said - I put it in. (I assumed she meant the order) I told her once again that I needed something, anything right now and she said I'll be right back with the soup. Then she went and started talking to the other table again.
We got up and left, went across the street to another restaurant and I was able to get a bag of peanuts as soon as I walked in the front door. The waitress at the new restaurant was very concerned about me as she could tell I was not feeling well. The peanuts did the trick and I felt much better. We stayed and had a wonderful lunch with terrific service from a waitress who was friendly, smiling and attentive.
We will never go back to VU.
