The first time I saw Dr. Vermanti was in December 2017. The first visit was good and I was excited for the treatment. Then after that everything came to surface and I realized how horrible this office and Dr. Vermanti is. My dentist referred me to Dr. Vermanti and now they will never refer her again after my experience with them. After the first visit, she decided to get me fitted for mouth splints and indicated that this would be something that would really help with all the pain I was in. I received the splint impressions on 12/19 and they were to send them into my insurance for approval. After the office was closed for the Holidays for an entire month I finally went again the second week of January and they never submitted the splints to my insurance. They gave me the excuse that the doctor notes have not been done yet. So, after letting me know that instead of getting the splints for almost nothing because my deductible was paid in 2017 now they would be thousands of dollars for them. I spoke with Dr. Vermanti the next visit I came in and asked her if there was a cheaper alternative for the splints. She said no and asked why I needed and alternative and I said because the doctor notes were never submitted and I will not pay that much for them (my insurance would have paid 90%). She said she would submit them, but after calling the office a week later she still did NOTHING. So, I called the dentist who referred me to see if they could do the splints for me or give me an alternative, but they said that is what the TMJ specialist is suppose to do. So, without asking the office manager to call Dr. Vermanti she did. She was upset that they were behind almost two months with their doctor notes. She was glad I called and let her know how I was getting treated by them and will not refer their patients to her anymore. Well, she spoke with Dr. Vermanti and lit a fire under her to do something and she finally submitted the doctor notes to the insurance. They approved them admittedly. I was working with the office manager Cristy who has no clue how to do anything and didn't help at all. Every time I would call to speak with Cristy she would get very defensive over the phone and give me a different answer of an estimate of how much it would cost for treatment. Not just a few dollars off but hundreds to thousands off. The communication between the front office and back office was non existent. I would call to let them know that the meds were still not at the pharmacy and they would have no idea what meds were even prescribed to me. Shouldn't that be in my chart? I received unnecessary treatment and medication that made me feel worse and would never recommend going to this office. I got my splints on 2/14 (two months) after waiting on them to actually submit them and then on 3/7 (my last visit) they tried to tell me that they were going to submit the splints on two different days since "sometimes" the insurance wont cover both on the same day. So, I sat in their office and called my insurance and asked. It took 5 minutes to call and they said to submit on the same day. I am not sure why they are having their own patients calling and checking everything they are doing because they don't know how to do this or take the time to help their patients. I will NOT be going back to this money hungry office. They are not their to help you feel better they are just trying to TAKE YOUR MONEY. Dr. Vermanti treated me like I was not a person. I am seeing a specialist that she had referred me too and he said the meds she had me on are the worst ones you could be on. They don't give you an individualized treatment plan and give every patient the same treatment regardless of condition, in order to just TAKE YOUR MONEY. I feel so much better now that I have stopped her treatment for a month now. When a doctor is behind on her notes (2 months) and no treatment can happen on a patient in pain and she does nothing about it until a dental office calls her out on it, IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO FOR HELP.
