I live in Green Valley and I hate Hipsters. So when I was wrangled into heading Downtown I was less than enthusiastic. That was until I ended up in this little piece of Heaven on earth.
Great set up. Huge outside with picnic tables and a bomb ass old Dodge pick up with a table in the back. So if you're not down with legit live music or want to smoke, you're set.
The band playing was fantastic. I just got back from Coachella and they were better than many of the bands I passed there! BTW's one of the best acts I saw at Coachella was at the Bunkhouse the Thursday before. The sound is nothing short of epic for such an unassuming venue.
Good selection of cold brews. I love Schlitz. Don't judge. But they had a fully locked and loaded bar and beer selection.
The food. The food. There almost aren't words. The fried grits and gravy and sloppy joe fries induced multiple foodgasms. The chef is from another local restaurant that I've heard raves about and the raves were accurate.
And finally, the bartenders. A plus plus plus. Charlie recommended the food choices and he was on point. He was also hilarious and was so pleasant we ended up closing the place down. Also, check out their special events. Anything that includes the Mighty Mighty Bostones, kiddie pools and 40"s is winning.
I will be back. A lot.
