I was in the downtown area and had time to kill before a movie so met a friend for lunch at Brick. It was downtown lunch rush, so we sat at the bar. I noticed there were quite a few large parties from a convention. While sitting at the bar, we waited almost 10 minutes before the bartender took our order. He was quite busy and was doing his best. A female customer had approached him twice and stated she and her party had been waiting for over 15 minutes in the patio. On the second approached, she told him they were leaving and he just shrugged his shoulders and said, "okay." Another patron came to the bar to place an order to go. She was a bit needy wanting to pay right away and kept asking how long it would be ... just only a mere few minutes after placing her order. After a while, she decided that she didn't want to wait so she asked for her money back.
When things started to slow down, the bartender shared that the management lacked in staffing skills. We have been to other Wild Thyme restaurants and have also noted they seem understaffed. If you go to Timo on Sunday mornings, bring your own pot of coffee if you sit in the patio. Spoke and Wheel is not too bad but we tend to go during happy hour and sit at the bar. Brian is great!
I recommend that if Brick wants to stay in business with the lunch crowd, they need to be properly staffed because quality prompt service is equally as important as good food.
