remember that this is a buffet...and that this location primarily attracts locals.
every time i go, whether it's during the weekend or middle of the week, this place has a decent size crowd eating there.
makino in las vegas is one of the only sushi buffets that i've seen that consistently attracts women eating solo...
this is significant because buffets rank up there pretty close to star wars territory from my vast buffet experience.
one thing that i like about makino is that they have a wide variety of sushi and some sashimi. i believe that i counted about 50 different rolls...and even though they are mostly variations of each other...i thought that it was sort of impressive.
once a waitress told us that the makino brothers started with buffets in los angeles (todai) and then had a falling out and went their separate ways...makino is definitely and upgrade...todai 2.0 if you will ;)
i love this place so much that it is one of my 1st stops whenever i'm in vegas....
oh...check the operating hours before heading down because it closes lunch around 3 pm and reopens again for dinner by 5:30 pm in the same way todai does.
