| - Once you get past the new centennial plaza (new because the habs moved the original one to build condos), the museum and the general bleu blanc rouge motif all over the place, it's a typicial north american indoor arena.
it has very good sight lines for hockey minus one kind of annoying area with slightly obstructed views of the scoreboard, is alright for A/B list concerts, and hosts a variety of other events that i haven't been to so i won't comment on.
Overall, it's a good place to watch a hockey game if you're willing to shell out an obscene amount of money, and yes it is obscene considering this team has been irrelevant for 25 years everywhere but here. Also, assuming the habs are winning or a playoff game, you'll get a better atmosphere than most around the NHL and other north american arenas. If you're seasoned with other sports around the world though, you'll likely be underwhelmed.
food is very skippable, eat somewhere else before or after, chairs are more than adequate, and to be honest anyone who watches an event on the scoreboard should just stay home and watch it on tv rather than showing up to the arena.
So by all means, go check it out if hockey is your thing or to see a concert, but unfortunately the habs and this place leave me with a very "been there done that feeling".
Also the new security measures suck, are a giant waste of time, and probably only add to the illusion of safety. Get there early to avoid missing the start of your game.
