It took me forever as a Pittsburgher to make it here, but I finally did! (Why do we forget what's in our own backyard??)
Now I've visited twice in a year. First stop was this summer and then this winter. Staff is always welcoming and I like that they offer up the best way to see the works are from top floor down.
Why you'll find here...all kinds of stuff! What I really love the most are the old photos and simple drawings from Warhol's childhood. Displayed beautifully and literature to explain.
Some of the exhibits are not for some people. There's some "interesting" film in one of the rooms so be advised if you have younger children with you. Otherwise, head on in and be amazed.
The other really interesting part is the time capsule room. I could probably spend two hours in that just Looking at all the fine details of everything enclosed in each one of those. I'm not sure what the rotation schedule is on them, but I know at least twice a year since I saw two in my two different visits. Fascinating!
Everyone loves the balloon room. Who wouldn't with the opportunity to touch and be part of the art!
Definitely worth the stop if you are visiting or local.
