| - This has been my go to spot for Mexican food for about two years. I was initially brought to Frank and Fina's by a guy I was seeing and although the relationship didn't work out, I always felt that I gained something since I FINALLY found authentic Mexican food in Las Vegas. As a LV transplant from Southern California, I definitely am used to some of the best Mexican food outside of, well, Mexico.
The best part about this lovely spot is that it's family owned and they are always very warm and welcoming. Each and every time I return I feel as though they're genuinely happy to see me come back. In addition, the restaurant is familiar with cooking for vegetarian/vegan guests and has a whole section of meat-free offerings. My personal favorite are the sweet potato and soyrizo tacos. They're incredibly good (especially with the homemade tomatillo salsa).
Unfortunately, I will say that the food is rather inconsistent. On several occasions I have had to send my food back to be remade because it was extremely over cooked/burned and when I have ordered other dishes, I have found them to be VERY bland/under-seasoned. My mom has also had the vegetarian special a few times and has been quite underwhelmed.
Because my overall experience at Frank and Fina's has generally been quite positive, I feel that four stars is pretty on point. Unfortunately, when my food has been bland or significantly over cooked, I would say a lower rating would be more accurate. Give this lovely place a try, I would just suggest sticking with a personal favorite versus a daily special (since they're very, very bland).
