  • I have been taking my 3 month old to Dr. Ravi. Everytime we go I feel like she does a half a** job. Doesn't check ears, throat etc. and asks if there are concerns and when I respond with concerns - she says "oh yeah, that's fine that's fine." My daughter had a cold for three weeks in December 2017 which was fine we got through it, it moved to an ear infection though. We went to see Dr. Ravi and she prescribed an antibiotic. I waited for the pharmacy to call, after a few hours I called the pharmacy to see if it was ready..."ma'am we don't have a prescription for your daughter." So, I call the doc office they have to call me back because they have to confirm with Ravi and then call it over to pharmacy, Then my daughter was diagnosed with croup at 3 months. She prescribed liquid steroids...I said to her - "can you make sure it's called over this time"...she said "oh, you must've had a different doc"...I said "no, it was you." She said "oh, I get one mistake right?" She never called steroids over to pharmacy either. Then my daughter was not getting better, she said come back in 48 hours if she doesn't seem better. We went in again because her breathing was absolutely terrible...assistant took her oxygen levels and said..."you can tell she is struggling to breathe and her oxygen is low." Ravi comes in, doesn't check her throat, ears, just her listened to her lungs that was it. I told her that her breathing is concerning to me and she is not eating - I am worried about her becoming dehydrated. She said "her lungs sound fine to me." I said "well, your assistant just made comments about her breathing when she took her oxygen levels." She blew me off (of course my daughter sounds okay right at that point). So, I had taken a video of her earlier in the day and finally Ravi was like "oh my, yes maybe we should prescribe breathing treatments." Like, do I really have to show you videos to make you take care of my child!? So I waited two hours, pharmacy never called for her albuterol...I call them..."ma'am we have no prescription for your daughter"...call doc office again... "Oh, we will call it over now." She also said if she sounds like this the next day to take her for chest x-ray. I call to schedule her chest x-ray and the lady says..."ma'am we don't have a referral from your doc" (not surprised). I call doc office again...they say "we will call over now." Went and had her chest x-ray they said - "your doc will call you within 24 hours." Next day, haven't heard back and I call doc office to see about results they said "we will send a note for doctor to call you." She just called and said "I called you last night and your voicemail says it isn't set up." I said that's interesting because this is my work phone and my voicemail has always been set up and working. I will never go to her again. She isn't thorough, she blows everything off and doesn't follow through. Update - two days later...baby was not getting better Ravi continued to blow me off and said her chest X-ray shows she is just inflamed. She wasn't eating still or having wet diapers. I called our Care24 to see if they thought she should be seen - they said yes she needs to be seen immediately. She could have a UTI or be dehydrated. There are side effects to the steroid she is on (which we weren't told about). We took her to goodnight pediatrics and she doesn't have croup. She has bronchiolitis with a secondary virus of pneumonia in her right lung. She is now on antibiotics and has gotten better just twelve hours after being on them. Ravi should not be caring for small children! How do you misdiagnose for four days after seeing her three times and reviewing a chest X-ray?! This could have turned very bad for my baby if I didn't listen to my instincts.
