| - Breakfast was fine (they DO serve eggs and sausage/Canadian bacon, by the way-- contrary to what other reviews say). That's pretty much the only pro I can give. I don't give one-star reviews lightly but my experiences at TownePlace Suites unfortunately warrant this.
My pair of iPhone earbuds was stolen from the room by (I can only assume) housekeeping staff. I left them on my bedside table one morning and came back after the room had been cleaned and they were gone. I tore the room apart and looked around the entire suite even though I distinctly remembered putting them there in the morning.
**Side note: In my search, I did find an old tupperware container under the bed, as well as a pill that looked like a Sudafed. When was the last time housekeeping looked under the bed, let alone vacuumed there?**
When I immediately went to the front desk to report the missing earbuds, the staff acted very skeptical about my claim and weren't sympathetic, though they said they would contact me later once they "checked with housekeeping." Apparently they tried to call the room later that evening, but the phone in the living room didn't work properly and there was no sound on the other end, nor was there a dial tone. Good thing we didn't need to call down at any point, since the phone was not operational.
When I arrived home after my stay, I found that I had left my glasses (in their case) at the hotel, once again on my bedside table. I called the hotel and was told that they would call me back after "checking with housekeeping." No call for 24 hours. I called again and was told that "if we didn't call you, that means we didn't find anything." SERIOUSLY? Were my glasses stolen too, has the housekeeping been blind to the giant gray case next to the radio, or is the front desk irritated with me about the missing earbuds?
I'm beyond shocked with the service I dealt with during my stay. I was staying there because I was looking for a place to live, as I move out to Arizona next month to work for YELP. How ironic.
**UPDATE**
After I posted this review, my mother, who booked the stay, received an email from the Operations Supervisor that my glasses were found when she searched lost and found herself. The glasses case "fell behind our storage bin." I called and they sent the glasses to me by priority mail. I am pleased that the issue was ultimately resolved so I have amended my review to two stars. I am still displeased with the overall experience and will not be staying at TownePlace Suites again.
