  • Located in the New Kennedy Square mall food court, Woofles and Cream may seem a bit out of place amongst its neighbours but I'm glad that this delcious and definitely modern storefront is bringing more attention to the plaza. Woofles and Cream is a two-person show - great friendly ladies who are genuine, grateful, and truly passionate about their business. You'll hear of longer than usual wait times but that's because, at least when I went there, they only had two waffle cookers and their 'woofles' are made to order. So while you have to wait longer for a good bite, there's no denying that good heart went into making it - especially when you see that they fill each egg woofle hole with the special ingredients when you order a 'specialty woofle' - like black 'n' white sesame, lap cheong 'n' seaweed, cookies 'n' cream, or peanuts 'n' choco chips. When I went, here's what I ordered: Matcha green tea soft serve in a cup ($3.50): I saw some reviews that getting it twisted with vanilla would dilute the strength of the matcha flavour so I decided to get full-out matcha green tea ice cream - no vanilla. I really really liked it - I'm a fan of matcha green tea flavours in sweets so I'm glad I got this flavour. The soft serve is really soft and pretty creamy - I think it's one of the best soft serve I've been served (pun intended). With the ice cream, I also ordered an original egg woofle ($3.50): the price is a little steep, considering you can usually get deals like 2/$5 elsewhere. The flavour of their original is okay - it's less sweeter than I'm used to - which disappointed me a bit. We also ordered a black 'n' white sesame woofle ($3.50) - it's good - never had one before so this was new - the sesame adds a bit more of a salty (minus actual salt) flavour to it - not sweet. Adding to that, the sesames give it a bit more crunch. I'd maybe get it again - but not before I try their other specialty woofles. Overall, I'm glad a great business serving both HK-style egg 'woofles' and yummy soft serve showed up in Markham - now I don't need to go all the way dowtown to get some. Although the price is a bit much for their original woofle, and the original woofles are just okay, the friendly service and great soft serve, as well as other inventive items on their menu, are enough to keep me coming back for more.
