  • The closest thing we have to Fry's in Cleveland. Don't know what Fry's is? Talk to your friends on the West Coast. MicroCenter is a smaller (they have just over 20 stores) electronics chain that is significantly more focused on wide selection, technical know-how of staff, and excellent customer service than any of the other nationwide chains (i.e., Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.). You won't find brain-dead post-teenager staff here trying to sell you a three-year service plan. No, here the staff person helping you will be some eighteen year old who builds computers at home with his eyes closed and just finished hacking AT&T's communication network for fun last night. In other words--knowledgeable staff. Whether you're buying a flat screen TV, a Mac, a new PC, a digicam, etc., give these guys a shot along with the big-guy nationals. You'll frequently find that the prices are better here, and the service can't be beat. Oh, and if you're trying to find just the right little screwdriver to adjust a piece of electronic equipment, or a specific type of cable-tie, or little rubber feet to replace the ones that fell off your computer? Don't bother with Best Buy, they're here.
