  • It saddens me to rate this salon 2 stars because after reading the reviews, I was SO excited to go there for the first time. I called and was able to book an appointment for the very next day. My appointment was with Jennifer. She was very friendly and professional while asking me what I wanted to do with my hair. I showed her 2 photos. One was a reference for the cut and the other was for the color. At the time, I had a black blunt cut lob. I wanted the black to blend into a chocolate brown on the lower half (ombre), and the cut to be slightly higher in the back while keeping the length in the front. She was very honest about the color and explained to me how bleach in black hair is tricky to predict the exact color result. She said if the color does not come out exactly how I wanted it at first, we can adjust. I told her that I am open to different shades of brown, but I absolutely do not want orange. She described the cut as an a-line with some layering. After the consultation, I really thought we were on the same page. First, she did a "base" cut which I assume was for the initial shape. Then, she started applying the bleach. I didn't realize how long it would take. My appointment was at 3:30pm and it was about 7pm when she washed out the bleach. It turned out to be orange. She asked me if the color was okay and I said no it needs to be brown, not orange. She put a darker brown in it and it ended up being caramel. I was okay with that. Then, she cut my hair a little more. By the time I was done, it was 9pm. I had a dinner reservation at 8 and she did try to hurry. She curled my hair and I was not in love with it and should have said something then. I had been there for so long and just wanted to get to my dinner. After washing my hair a day later and flat ironing it straight, I saw how uneven it was. I am not sure if she did that on purpose or not, but it was not what I wanted. There are two big layers. One is shorter and it jumps straight into a long layer. Nothing in between. With shorter hair, the cut needs to be precise and I felt it was not. I was so devastated I cried. My appointment was in mid-November and I waited a couple weeks to write this review to see if my opinion would change. The "coppy" look is currently in style right now, but I feel mine does not flow the way I want it to. I am trying out different styling products in hopes that I start to like it. Overall, Jennifer was such a nice person along with the rest of the staff. Perhaps, we were just on different pages as far as what look I was going for.
