| - Worst. Customer. Service. Ever.
Seriously, this IKEA location is horrendous. When I moved here I had to basically furnish an entire apartment from scratch, so naturally an IKEA trip was in order.
I ultimately needed to have my furniture delivered because I didn't have the right space in my car to get all my boxes home (in the past, at other locations, I've always brought home and assembled my furniture my self).
It was a busy weekend so they were not able to deliver until the Monday following, which was okay because my very time-consuming school wasn't set to start until that Tuesday. Then I got a call morning of delivery saying there was an accident with the truck out for delivery and I had to reschedule my furniture drop off.
Okay. Fair. An accident is a tragic, unforeseeable misfortune. No problem. How about Tuesday?
No sorry, Tuesday will be overbooked (oh, you mean with the Monday deliveries you couldn't do? Like me?
Okay. Fair. How about Wednesday? It just HAS to be after 4 pm because I won't be home from vet school until then. I was assured that wouldn't be a problem.
Around comes Wednesday and I get a call at 12:30 saying delivery is on the way! I responded apologetically to the delivery man, but I wasn't home, couldn't be home, and told them I wouldn't be home prior. He says he's sorry and will make some calls and call me back.
Fast forward and the delivery guy is outside my home, setting stuff up in the Arizona heat when I arrive. His boss had told him to leave and mark it as a missed delivery time so I could reschedule but because of my special circumstances (and this apparent lack of communication) he started to get it assembled.
As I let them in, he informs me that my order is incomplete. He asked if IKEA let me know that prior. Sure didn't! He also tells me that there was a defect in my bottom dresser drawer, but they'll be back tomorrow with my other things and they can bring it then.
Okay, not the end of the world. I'm annoyed none of this was communicated with me prior, but alright. Tomorrow, they said.
Tomorrow came and went and they never showed (which is annoying because it keeps you confined to your home in anticipation of having to be there). I called, was on hold for FORTY MINUTES, and finally hung up. Called again and was transferred and dropped... A week goes by.
So finally I showed up this past weekend. And honestly-WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I was in that hell-hole for 3 hours. Apparently one of my items was out of stock and they had no way to trouble shoot it. No call. No explanation. Nothing. So they said they could refund me the price of the two missing objects and I could figure it out. It was absolutely an awful experience.
Fast forward again and after the horrible waste of my time trying to intelligently deal with awful employees the new delivery was set up for today (another week past, on a Saturday) and I was told to expect a delivery from 2-6 pm. Except I was awoken at 7 am uh three calls in a row with no voicemail attached of the delivery guy asking if I was ready for him to come now.
Just, so unprofessional.
Oh, and icing on the cake?? The drawer I said I was missing? Yeah, they sent me home with the wrong size of it.
Fantastic.
