  • I like to patronize small locally owned businesses when possible and since Yelp Charlotte is challenging us to shop locally in their Yelp Shops Local 2017 campaign, I'm all in! The Coffee Cone Cafe is a local, family owned shop in the University City area. I have had this place bookmarked for awhile so I decided to drop in for breakfast. I ordered one of the monthly specials - the Pecan Pie Latte. This latte has vanilla, butter pecan, and caramel syrups. I opted for the whipped cream with caramel drizzle on top. It was so good! I also ordered a Sausage, Egg, and Cheese sandwich on a croissant. The croissant was flakey and buttery and the sausage and egg (real not boxed) were delicious. The sandwich was made perfectly! The staff was friendly and efficient. A few regulars came in while I was there. One guy came in and said "I'll have my usual." The barista knew his order! It was a very comfortable and warm environment. The coffee and food were quality and reasonably priced. I'll have to come back for the soft serve that my fellow yelpers have been talking about!
