| - I was here on the Legendary Haunt Tour 2016 in November. I've never heard or visited Kennywood before. On the bus ride over from the host hotel, I was told the history of this amazing park. I was then very anxious to see the park first hand.
During our visit the park was closed for the season. However, they did put on some Halloween effects, actors, and the mansion ride for us. Also, Noah's Ark was operating.
Once you enter the park, you must pass through the tunnel underneath the road to get to the actual amusement park portion. That was awesome and they offered some Halloween effects to it for us.
Looking around the park and being the park felt great. You can see the vintage of the park, feel the park in the years of being operated, and really appreciate what the park is worth. Although the entire park was not open to us on the tour, we did get to look around a bit.
The carousel is very vintage and was my favorite looking ride here. We started out at the Voodoo Bayou house on our tour. The house was in full effect with actors, effects, music, and etc. We were told the story and how they put the house together in a water attraction space.
We then rode the mansion ride with ghost shooters. Sadly, our guns didn't work properly. The ride was nice. It felt like a traditional dark ride, but not as scary. Then we experienced the newly renovated Noah's Ark. That was a lot of fun and it felt great to walk an historical piece of the park.
The tour ended with a catered meal by Kennywood. The staff members were so welcoming, thankful, and very kind to us all. I really want to come back to experience the park in full swing. The park was very beautiful in the overall setting. The coaster look like a lot of fun as well.
Thank you again Kennywood for the wonderful experience during the Legendary Haunt Tour 2016.
