| - I am in Toronto for a few days and I had a membership to Mountain Equipment Co-Op - so I thought I would stop by and take a look for something I could use.
What else is there to say? The reviews below are great!
I went in looking for some good multi-purpose (computer / photography) bags, and I came out with a Sea-Line Urban Satchel and Sea-Line Urban Backpack. The prices are excellent, and they have the items in stock. Frankly, it is the best stocked outdoor equipment store I know of. The quality products they have is simply that - there is no junk in this store.
BIG PRO - this is a dog friendly store, so there was no issue with me taking the dawgie out for a walk and I popped into the store to do my purchases - dawgie and all. The staff loved my dawgie, and it was nice to see a store that is also environmentally concerned. They donate 1% of their sales to the environment of Canada - parks, trails, etc.
This store is just different from a Dick's Sporting Goods or a Gander Mountain. MEC seems to just focus on clothing, bags, equipment and that weird thing you just cannot find anywhere else. :-)
They only sell to members, but to become a member (for life), it is just a $5.00 share you buy in the store. You can do it when you check out. I still have mine from 1996.
It is a great store! I gave it 5 stars!
