I reserved a car on line through a 3rd party website which I have just learned this was a bad idea. I reserved may car over a week in advance. I scheduled it for a Sat pick up and when I got there , there were a few other people waiting in line. So when the 1st guy said he was there for a pick up, the representative told him that we don't have any cars available so I'm like we'll I'm here for a pick up as well as another couple. He calls over to another location in Sun City and they had cars. That was sort of a relief but an inconvenience.
So I get over to the location , a bit of a wait ,but other people were coming over from this location as well while I was sitting there waiting. Hmmm. So I get to the representative and she looks for a vehicle and she grabs a VW Jett so I asked is this the same level as the car that I reserved and paid for on line which was a Nissan Altima she said no she asked what website did I go through and I told her Cars dot and we said it at the same time, the 2 reps and myself com. The other rep that was there said oh we are going through a "lawsuit " with that website. And he stated somehow reservations were beeing circumvented back through that website. In order for me to get the car that I reserved and paid for I would have to pay more. Seeing that the office was full I didn't want to argue and waste any more or the people who were waiting as well.
So they have a "lawsuit" with a 3rd party vendor but they still are accepting reservations? But they say the have "no control over that" . Bad business is what it's called. Cars.com and Hertz. I will never rent a car from Hertz again and I will make sure that I won't use aything that says Cars.com. At this point it could be one of those pointing the finger at one another but the consumer losses always.
