  • While my dreams of having an Alamo Drafthouse in the Pittsburgh area will probably never happen, this place seems to fit the bill OK. My partner and I typically opt to go at off-peak times for a discount. We've hit up a few early matinees, and most recently, a half-price movie on Tuesday. This has been our favorite time to go since the theater's nearly empty and the tickets are only $5. While we usually just buy a popcorn, there are many food/drink options here, including Starbucks and alcohol. As other reviewers have said, I can imagine some bottle necking problems during more crowded periods with how the food area set up. Two registers to cash out at the end of a long, narrow stretch of food vendors seems a bit shortsighted. Luckily we haven't dealt with those issues because we go at less crowded times. The screens are ginormous, even bigger than most other theaters I've seen. The sound levels are good -- they won't burst your ear drums. The seats are like cushy recliners, although they seem to bend back a little too far for my liking. I don't like feeling like I'm on the verge of tipping back. All in all, my experiences with this place have been pretty positive. I wish regular prices weren't out of control, but that's nothing unique and can be said for most theaters.
