| - Dangerous drivers!!! I was almost hit by an Ace taxi as a pedestrian and then was cussed out by the driver. Here is the email I sent to ace. They never even acknowledged it....
To Whom IT May Concern:
In the early afternoon of this past Saturday I was almost hit by an ACE Taxi (minivan) on the corner of W 25th and Lorain. I was jogging across Lorain, with the Green walk sign on, and the cab was making a left hand turn (going southbound) from 25th onto Lorain. The green AND YELLOW turn arrows were no longer illuminated, and I saw this because I was waiting my turn at the light. The driver apparently thought he could still make the turn since the yellow turn arrow just went out just seconds prior, but he failed to yield to pedestrians since they now had the green walk sign. I literally had to go from a jog to a complete stop, if I hadn't your driver would have hit me, and because I had to come to an abrupt stop I lost by balance because of forward moment and put my hands out which, hit your vehicle.
I wasn't happy but continued on my way, and made it (legally) through the next series of lights on Abbey on my way to Tremont. Your driver was held up at the lights on Abbey, and eventually caught up to me. When he caught up to me he started yelling at me from the cab with the window down. Not only was he yelling at me but he was using insulting and vulgar language. I can get more explicit if necessary. I was now angry and shouting back but I never swore at this man as he did to me. I was trying to point out that he needs to be more careful and I had the right away, but obviously he didn't care or agree.
He apparently doesn't understand that pedestrians have the right away, but more importantly that he could have seriously harmed or even killed someone with his 4,500 pound vehicle (I was not the only pedestrian crossing that busy intersection on Saturday). And I hope his conduct following the incident doesn't represent your company.
I thought I would bring this up to someone at Ace, because I don't think you would want your company represented in this manner. I also brought this up because I want this man reprimanded and I want an apology for his conduct (not necessarily form him as I don't care to have any further interaction with him). If there is a sincere apology I will continue to recommend Ace to people and not let the action of one individual reflect on the whole company.
