Miko's happens to be both my favorite japanese and neighborhood restaurant all rolled into one. Dining there is a weekly ritual for several reasons. First and foremost, the food is excellent. Miko's offers the most extensive cooked food selections, all very reasonably priced. For example, the yummy and generously portioned hamachi-kama (perfectly broiled yellow-tail collar) set dinner comes with miso soup, salad, rice and four california rolls, all for under 13 bucks. They also feature the city's best tempura dishes. Foodies will find daily whiteboard specials delightful as there are many exotic and fresh goodies to be had in sushiland. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is reminiscent of the Cheers sitcom bar, only Japanese. The owners are as charming as the warm yellow decor, always looking to get to know their customers. Miko's is also a great late night hangout with a lively sushi bar. One visit and you will know why I go as much as I do.
