| - Skip the salon for a manicure. That's the only service I went in for on a Friday morning (yay for Resort Credits! ;)). But, at $65 for a manicure, I was expecting so, so, so much more. In fact, I've had so, so, so much more done for me at a price point lower than that. I can't even remember the manicurists' name, but I was so annoyed the entire time because she kept flipping out over how awesome my shirt was or my purse...and kept asking me where it was from, and how much it was. I don't mind a little girl talk, but she went so far as to ask how much money my husband and I make separately (When she's basically got my hands in hers and massing my forearms, how am I supposed to say, "Sorry, I don't want to answer, because I think that question is a bit inappropriate?!!?") In any case, I just thought this manicurist was too gabby and a little non-professional (especially when she stopped my treatment to give her son a hug (at least she's a nice mom!? :)) -- after he was passing by us after he got his eyebrows done gratis from another salon employee)... I'm sorry, but I thought I was paying to have your services and not your company/friendship!? The only reason she gets one star is because she gave me the nail file and buffer that she used on me to take home in a small bag. Also, I didn't notice her using anu clean/sterilized instruments (besides the file/buffer) on me - she just kept pulling instruments out of a bag. In any case, I was ready to put it all aside, but then I looked down at my nails...and let's just say, they were not that impressive. She never asked me if I wanted square or round, filed or cut, and never used a base coat or top coat. The type of nail color she used was a CND brand 7-day polish, but this thing started to chip on day 2. No kidding! Also, also she was applying to my pinky on the right hand (the very last digit she was working on), she accidentally smeared it bc she was gesticulating so wildly...she said, "Oh, I'm sorry"...and I said, "That's okay" because in that light, I thought it looked fine. I get outside and realize it's smeared. This manicurist may've been partially blind, but chances of that are low so, i'm just going to say she doesn't pay attention to detail, clearly, and isn't committed to perfection. At $65, that's what I expect. I've seen ladies who give $10 manicures do a better job. Sad.
