MTO Cafe is Skinny Fat's easily accessible cousin. Their food is reminiscent of Skinny Fat's healthy options and matches their prices.
The cafe is order first, then sit. My boyfriend and I arrived at 1pm on a Saturday and found sitting no problem (luckily spaces were available after we ordered). They serve breakfast all day and that's what we both opted for. I was craving pancakes but I can't fathom spending $14 on speciality pancakes with no sides included. Instead I ordered a veggie skillet with no mushrooms for $11 (I think) and my boyfriend got the MTO breakfast (meat and hash browns, which MTO calls mash browns) for $14. We both got iced coffees for $3 each.
The food looked delicious and it was tasty! Their spam (part of the MTO breakfast) was cooked to perfection. There was plenty of food to share. Their mashbrowns are a little soft (but I prefer crispier hash browns). I enjoyed my veggie skillet. I wish the potatoes were softer but that didn't stop me from eating everything!
Looking at the other food people ordered, their pancakes looked aesthetically pleasing and their sandwich bread looked buttered and toasted to make a perfect crunch. Next time I return I might opt for a sandwich!
My boyfriend and I left content and full. MTO Cafe is a nice brunch spot (there is no alcohol options here, so might not be ideal for everyone!) without leaving a guilty feeling inside your stomach.
