I ate at La Tomate Blanche this evening with my daughter after a nice ski day at Bromont. This is slightly upscale pretentious restaurant that did not overly appreciate my ski jacket and pants. Calamari entree was good; spaghetti carbonara was average for the price. The problem was the service. A second glass of red wine was poured in the original unclean glass by the server. No offer of a clean glass for a $13 glass of wine. The bill was in error. I ordered a demi-portion and was charged full portion ($18 vs $14). When I explained to the hostess this error, she left to find the server. I was then confronted by both. The server said i ordered a full portion. This was not true, as verified by my daughter. Then the server angrily presented a $5 bill and asked if I had $1. The bill with tip was over $100. When I replied no, the hostess defused the situation finally by offering me the full $5.
Thank you very much. Unprofessional client service by the hostess, and confrontational attitude from the server when I demanded compensation for their error.
Never again, La Tomate Blanche. UNPROFESSIONAL service.
(This is my first review with YELP, just to give all a sense of how I felt I was treated at this place).
