  • I started attempting to get standard high-speed internet connected at my apartment about 5 weeks ago. Made the call made an appt. got the time out from work. Perfect! When the cable guy came by he was very nice and simply explained that the closet he needed access to at the apartment complex was locked and we would have to reschedule. He checked the hookups in my room in my own closet anyway to be sure everything else was in proper order and left. I called to reschedule for Friday evening. Called cox at least 4 times as no one showed up. They explained the tech was running very late, they had left a message for him to call me and asked me to wait until about 8 (3 hours after my time window)...still a no show. I called again at 7:55 and a guy answers tells me he needs to put me on hold and does, and at 7:59 picks up he phone and hangs up on me...because it's 8:00 and they're now closed. That was adorable. The next day we saw a Cox Truck outside the complex and called to see if someone could come by while they were already there. Apparently after an hour on the phone with someone and their manager, "It doesn't work that way". So I made the next available appt for Tuesday evening. Again, it was almost to the end of my appt window and no one was there. I called back in, and apparently there was only an appt for the previous Friday night still in the computer. The lady who answered just kept telling me that after I explained that this is clearly unacceptable and that if there was another provider I could use, I would. So another appt was made. Finally someone came out but because the equipment hookup fees had been negated previously for my inconvenience, he didn't hook anything up. Of course I went home and hooked my own equipment up. Then I tested it out. Nope! At this point I am furious. I have made 5 appointments total and had a tech out at my apt twice and taken off from work 3 times. Absolutely ridiculous. So I called in again. The lady heard me out, and said she wanted to check and make sure my previously used cox equipment was registered in the computer...and magically my internet works! So basically the entire time, all of the people I spoke with, had not performed a basic part of their job to ensure that part of their end was correctly entered. That simple fix took 5 weeks to figure out. Worst service and communication ever! Absolutely infuriating.
