Ugh! What an armpit hotel experience. Was here for two nights on business. First of all this airport can't be more than 10 mins from the airport. I landed at Sky Harbor and called the hotel 4x to ask about their shuttle. Why 4x? Because these guys won't answer the phone. They let it go into voice mail. Not even a quick pick up and "will you please hold". Just voice mail. They tell me that Eric is on his way. 20 mins later I called again. Prob 3x to get through. Who answers? Eric!! I asked where he was and he muttered something about a driver change and that someone was on their way. In the next 20 mins I talked to the hotel at least 2 more times and each time "someone is on their way". I had already checked with the taxi stand and they don't want to take me for a 5 min ride. I was about to offer a cab driver $20 when a shuttle finally shows up. It's Eric! I ask him what happened and he tells me that he wasn't sure except he figured it was faster just to jump in the van and do the pick up rather than find the driver.
The room is a wreck. I'm posting pictures of the busted up shower head, the perma-stain toilet, and the drain. I get in the shower and the water is just up to my ankles in no time. The drain plug is just floppy around and so I pull it off only to find a drain that was packed in with hair and all kinds of congealed bodily secretions. They changed it the next day thankfully.
Of course the next day after a power outage there was no internet for the remainder of the day. I called the front desk to ask. The guy says "we are aware of the problem and are working on it". "Ok great do you expect it to be back working tonight? "We can't say at this time." "Is there someone working in it now?" "Umm. No. it's late and no one is here to work in it".
Seriously? Just say that it won't be up until at least tomorrow!!! I'm a big boy...don't make me play 20 questions for a straight answer.
I'm a Marriott guy, but my advice is to stay away. Stay far away. If you need a hotel near the airport you have a lot of choices. Try the Doubletree at 2100 Priest. It's one exit down on the 202 and in a LOT better shape
