| - Finally - distilling has come to the valley, and we are blessed by the folks at AZ Distilling. You can look at comparisons in the brewing world on how things are often done. There are the well monied businesses that pop up and can effortlessly churn out a product equal to or better than, untreated pool water. On the other extreme, you have the DIY's operating on pure passion and ingenuity. That's AZ Distilling and they are all natives. When's the last time you were in a distillery surrounded by 3 owner AZ natives? I'm buying a lottery ticket.
So they make good booze. As George W Bush use to say 'I appreciates you'. Truth be told I haven't aspired to become a big bourbon/whiskey guy outside of a stray whiskey sour, but I'm telling you the gin these folks make is scrumptious - and I haven't been drinking much gin in over 30 yrs. I will start today though. Citrus, coriander, cumin, cardamom, cinnamon, apple, lavender, and of course juniper. whoa. Double whoa. You can taste hefty hints of the botanicals. They do NOT get lost in the alcohol or the juniper. Impressive.
