I am so disappointed in RadioShak. I have been a very long-term customer. Today I tried to return a three-year warrantied 6ft. long iPhone charging cable. It was bought at that store and is a Radio Shak brand. I paid for an extended warranty in addition to the $18 cable.
In spite of having purchased four others over the last two years and providing them with my phone and contact info for the warranty for each, they had NO record of them and the manager refused to honor the warranty and replace it without charge.
The manager asked me again to write my name and phone number on a piece of paper so he could contact his regional manager. I asked, "You don't have the authority to warrantee one of your own charging cables? You're the manager and you have to go to the regional manager? " He said, "Sorry, there's nothing I can do for you."
I'm sorry too.
Unfortunately, with RadioShack stores closing all over the country clearly their customer base is not growing. They have to rely on existing customers like me to stay in business. Unfortunately, their return policies for a phone cable demonstrate a failure to understand the principles of brand loyally and how to retain customers. Today, they have lost another one. Too bad for them. Too bad for me.
You would be wise to avoid RadioShack.
