| - This review is for the pool area only 5.21.16
We rented a daybed for the afternoon. with all hopes of just relaxing and spending the rest of the day including lunch in the pool.
After 1 and 1/2 hour of being in pool area. we have seen 2 servers around the area and seems to be ignoring this area we were in while the server was able to help the ones by the pool chairs and to think we rented to be here.
I had asked one of the guys in blue for a menu and was told it's the waitress and walked away.
I had my son go to the bar to have someone bring a menu.
Someone passed by to give a menu after I asked the lifeguard supervisor Enrique, he was surprised no one helped us yet.
I then called the front desk to get patched into the cabana bar, was transfered to a manager. The manager said he'll send someone over.
The server finally came over after another 20 minutes. Initially she looked annoyed to have another assignment added, away from her section and that to please be patient as she has the other side and our server has 6 other cabanas. And if we cant wait, we also have an option to walk up the bar and order ourselves!!! ummm whos going to watch our kids? However we've been watching both them, specially the one assigned to section. She didn't even look across our way. I'll update once we get our food.
FYI I'm normally patient and don't get upset over small things. but when you have to ask 3 people for a menu and have to be patched in to the manager to get served that's my limit.
Update : Kristina was amazing after she got over being stretched from 1 end to go out of her way to assist us. Mckenzie we never saw pass by except when she was getting off shift. Once we had Kristina, she made sure to come by and check even though she is now serving the entire poolside. She also tried to work on our players card comp. However, another faux pax on the part of Westgate, hubby called to see if we can use players card credit on pool area or does he need to get a voucher first. The lady on the phone said, just bring the players card to the pool, no voucher needed... and guess what ..... they needed the voucher!!!!! So we charged to room, hubby went to front desk VIP lounge to discuss this and was told the will take care of it upon check out or go get a voucher ...
5.20.16 Room we were promised was not available, got 24th floor instead with adjoining rooms. It was cool and great but the adjoining doors won't open. as well as closet sliding door broken. Called downstairs at 1200pm, after housekeeping tried to open door,1250 hubby called again for eta. Was told can't confirm eta but assured they will.come. We left and came back at 9pm. Still it's locked called front desk again, this time 2 nice housekeeping guys came to fix it. can you see the pattern of inconsistencies ??
Rooms are nice except there are areas of disrepair even though it's newly renovated..Marketing is doing a good job trying to get people to come and stay here. Casino workers including roaming cocktails workers are friendly including the sundries guys. However, it's wasted effort on marketing as the rest of stuff they don't get their act together.
