| - My husband and I are wine connoisseurs. We go to wine dinners and events regularly. We have dined at 3 starred Michelin restaurants, and we have NEVER EVER seen an unholy markup on wine as we did at this restaurant. In fact, the table next to us were saying the same thing. They were in total disbelief. Of course, there is significant mark up at restaurants for wine, but this was just plain insulting.
My husband got the $155 steak which was a rare beef and that was great. I got the prime bone in rib eye, and was severely disappointed. I get bone in ribeye regularly (it's my cut) at Fleming's, Mastro's, Ruths Chris and other high end prime steakhouses, and the bone is always long and runs across the steak. Here, it was a "bone" that was barely an inch! How is that possible? It just didn't look right or taste right--it lacked seasoning, and it was 3/4 fat. Rib eye is a fatty cut of meat, but I get it regularly and never experienced this much fat.
The sides were disappointing other than the mushrooms. Brussel sprouts lacked seasoning, duck fat potatoes would have been superb, but some pieces were not fully cooked. Au gratin potatoes were okay, but the consistency of the cheese was like Velveeta. I prefer a firmer cheese with a crunch at the bubbling top. Also, the creamed corn was salty. Weird.
Our bill came to about $550. Not worth it. Our server Luciano was spectacular, or I would have given it a much lower rating.
