This review is specifically for the service department. The sales department was extremely easy to work with and made purchasing a new car very easy.
My father brought his vehicle, a toyota 4runner to the service department with a clicking sound in the motor. He was afraid of what it might be and afraid of driving the vehicle in case it would further damage the vehicle.
The service department told him that they had no idea what the problem was and that to do a diagnostic it would be in the ballpark of $800. That wasn't the problem. They told him, if it wasn't what they were thinking it might be it could cost more money to do a more thorough diagnostic which would end up running him closer to $2500 or $3000. If they still couldn't figure out the problem, they would need to tear apart the engine which could cost upwards of an additional $8000.
My father wasn't too keen on the idea of a simple knocking sound costing $12000-$13000 out of pocket and he kept asking if the service department had any idea what it might be. They assured him they had never heard anything like it before and had no idea what might be causing it. They kept pushing the $13000 number, which ultimately scared him into purchasing a new vehicle.
He is happy with his new vehicle, and like I said, he was very satisfied with the sales part of the dealership but the next day he finds his exact vehicle on the used car lot apparently all fixed up and ready to be sold at $6000 more than they offered him for a trade-in value.
So, despite telling him it could cost upwards of $13000 to fix the problem, it apparently hadn't taken them that long to figure out what was wrong and now it is for sale again after he has purchased another vehicle which he hadn't intended on purchasing.
Just an FYI if you are intending on bringing your vehicle for service, they tend to throw big numbers at you in an attempt to scare you into buying a newer vehicle.
