| - Uncle Bear's was a cute place in a retail strip that I happened to find through Yelp.
Upon parking, I noticed that there is a great pet-friendly patio. The inside was cool. It was old country wood and set-up, with chain-link ceilings and pictures of people's dogs everywhere. I looked it up and learned that the restaurant was named for the owner's pooch. The menu had the running theme, as did the dog bowls of peanuts on each table. This is a "throw the shells on the floor" kind of place.
I ordered the Barkley's Big Dog BBQ Burger with fries. The bun was sweet. The burger was perfectly cooked. The fries were crisp and fantastic. My husband had a Caesar and the Prime Rib Sliders. For sliders, they were huge. The meat was tender and tasted great. We shared some warm cookie ice cream thing for dessert that was ok. It was a bit hard to scoop the cookie, and I don't recall tasting any nuts, as listed.
As for service, ok, but a little on the lacking side. Another couple came in at the same time - the man using a walker. We waited for a really long time to be noticed. We were finally seated and gave our drink orders. A nice selection of beers, including their local brew. Our drinks took a while, and we placed our order. After the meal came, we didn't see our server for a while. It wasn't that busy in there, so they had better get prepared for the Snowbirds!
We will come here again. Probably more so in the off-season.
