I was the 'time to make the donuts' girl at our local DD between high school & college. I put the jelly in, frosting and toppings on and served thousands of donuts during the midnight to 6 am shift near a couple of bars in central NJ. So, it takes a lot for me to get excited about a donut ...
I am over the moon for Bigmouth Donuts. These are the best of the classic donuts I remember from the mom & pop shops that lost out to DD years ago.
The Cinnamon Sugar is perfection. Buttery inside, with just the perfect dense dough, a little crispy from the fry and a delicious coating of cinnamon-laced sugar clinging to the cake. If you liked these as a kid - try this one. You'll be transported to a very happy place!
The lemon raspberry, lemon coconut and almond glazed are also favorites in our house. The cream cheese cinnamon rolls have to be experienced - describing the crispy, pastry-like dough with cream cheese baked into the cinnamon swirls just doesn't do justice to this marvelous morsel.
Go. Eat Donuts. Be Happy.
