There a few things I always take into account for a good gel manicure. -I would give Alvin a B+ for my manicure, he did a good job trimming my cuticles, etc. so I was pretty pleased with him, I didn't exactly like his filing and shaping my nails as I had told him, but that can always be fixed with natural nails. I give his gel application a D, only because my gel manicure chipped within the first 24 hours & he painted on my cuticles which caused extreme lifting (and my hair getting caught in between the polish and nail (in the 1st week!!!)). With other gel manicures-I have had weeks where mine hasn't chipped but my nails actually had chunks fallen off in normal wear.. The gel lasted exactly two weeks and that is only because I waited with them severely chipped for awhile before taking them fully off. To me, that is not a very good application of gel. I also give his nail art a D (just had glitter application done) but the color was all runny and sticky, very hard to use. He did the best he could, but instead of getting another glitter he let it run everywhere and under my cuticles so it caused lifting and still charged me the $5 alone for glitter. Overall the salon seemed to be pretty clean and well appealing. Alvin, had a great personality I enjoyed throughout my manicure (A for that) but if only that could've shown on my gel manicure... Needless to say, I will not return :/
