Called CCE in response to their mailer for HVAC vent check-up ("save electricity") promoted by NV Power.
Although the summer electric bill (A/C...summer...Las Vegas) is not bad I figured why not see what could possibly be improved in the system to save energy.
Initial contact was very short since the receptionist stated that a NV Power acct # was needed to set appointment. Called back and scheduled appointment three weeks out due to first available on their side.
Two days before scheduled appointment they leave courtesy message as a reminded. I called back to confirm. Here is where the trouble starts...
I get another call from CCE asking that I call with more info. What they really wanted was all the original info - again.
Having dealt with many contractors in Clark County most of you who value your time already see where this is going. Like you, I have NO time for "professionals" that don't think twice about needless repeat contacts for one simple issue.
Against my better judgement, I called back and got the same "behind the curve" receptionist spewing a robotic script as if I never spoke with her before. I cut her off and asked what the issue is? She gets peeved and acts as if I'm the problem. I tell her "..show up as scheduled."
Of course, the next day (scheduled appiontment) they NO SHOW.
Gee, what a surprise. TYPICAL!
Not worth my time to babysit such flagrant disregard for a customers schedule and time. For some reason, they consider the account # THEY LOST a no go pinned on the customer. It appears they PRE-bill NV power. Why else would a hard copy of the elec account # provided (for the SECOND time) when they are schedule to show up on the job not be acceptable??
BUSINESS 101 CLUE TO CCE:
1. Get the basics correct the first time like any other professional.
2. Your inept record keeping is YOUR fault.
3. Your entitlement attitude wastes customer's time.
4. Customers are WAY too busy for repetitive contacts.
5. Keep appointments YOU set.
Point?
Sounds silly but like anything else we all only have so many hours a day to get things done. NO time to waste on contractors that, before even showing up, prove that they can't handle the basics.
Get a clue CC"Experts" -
Too many other time robbers and repetitive tasks already eat up people's time, no need for yet another time drain - even if it seems like "no big deal" to you.
Lesson:
Again, go with your gut. Especially with contractors in Clark County, if they sound or act even the slightest bit incompetent they likely are.
Just say NO to the aggravation - call and screen a competitor.
