  • Tucked away behind the Rushton and nestled next to the Fran Hill art gallery you'll find a quaint little establishment called the Village Scoop. They offer about a dozen different gelato flavours as well as a few ice cream varieties. There's also a slushy machine. I went last Sunday with a group of five adults and two toddlers. There was only one person working so the pace was leisurely. The first person was almost done their cone by the time the 5th person was served. Prices are standard city gelato at about $6 a scoop depending on your choice of cup, cone or sugar cone. The flavours were very fresh and natural. The blood orange flavour was very refreshing. Mango was intensely mango. Banana was very ripe banana (not my thing, I like my bananas with a tinge of green). They were out of lemon, which I want to try next time. They get their gelato made by a guy from Fresca. Cute patio tables and umbrellas out front.
