  • Really enjoyed our experience here for BYOB paint night. Purchased a Groupon for $48 for two people and arrived early, as we knew it was first come, first served for seating. Doors opened at 6:45 for our 7 PM event. Peggy scanned our Groupon voucher from our phone and we sat at seats that were already set up with the easels, water and brushes. There are only about 12 people at a time to make the group manageable for one instructor. There are books filled with sample paintings (about 20-25) to choose from. We were disappointed that each booklet had a differing variety of options, thus your dream painting could be on someone else's booklet. I wish there were a full book at each station. Since everyone potentially chooses a different picture, Peggy must make her way around the room Definitely sit with your back to the check-in desk, because Peggy always seems to start on that end for her one-on-one instruction. My husband and I were at the end on the other side (facing the door) and were always last, thus sat there with nothing to do for quite some time. However, when Peggy does get to you and give instructions, it is super helpful. She allows you to choose differing paint colors and shows you on a pallet the techniques to master your painting step by step. To save everyone time and get people going more quickly, it would be beneficial to have people who chose the same painting gather for one instruction. A lady in front of me was doing the same picture as me but I had to wait about 20 min. to get the same exact instructions. She gauges your comfort level with painting and alters her level of assistance accordingly. For my non-artistic husband, she penciled an outline of his tree and owl. I am not super artistic but enjoy the challenge so she let me go wild. There is a coffee station for $1, a fridge to store your booze, cups, bottle openers and plates for snacking. It is right next to Auto Zone in the Fry's complex (where we stopped for chilled wine prior to arrival). No one was done in the 2 hours and Peggy patiently waited for people to finish up. We were the first to leave at 9:40 (class ended at 9). We left with coupons in hand for 50% off next time. I will bring my sister (and two bottles of wine instead of one) with me when she visits in November. Lots of fun!
