I took my family to the Penguins game 12-19-15. They opened the doors an hour before the game but the lines for security were 200 yards long! If they let people in earlier they may buy more, eat mote and drink more! Expensive, poor food choices. I've gone to 10-12 other NHL arenas and this seemed one of the worst. I miss the Civic Arena and the ole Igloo Club!
As for sight lines, it is set up like the Staples Center in LA, lower level seats are great, the luxury boxes have a good view but the upper level are in another time zone. I just went to an Anaheim Ducks game against the Penguins and the experience, seating and food was much better.
The ushers were great, helpful, friendly and kind.
I'm from Pittsburgh originally and wanted this to be a world-class venue but sadly, it is a new building with minor league execution.
