  • In the food industry, service is everything. It looks like the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace fails to understand even this. This is a review purely based on their reservation system. I've been a longtime patron of Caesars. Not necessarily a high roller, but I burn hundreds if not thousands here. I've been to the buffet many times. Fantastic food. What's most important to me is that a business upholds whatever promise it claims to deliver. I thought the Bacchanal was truly unique among Las Vegas buffets for this as it allowed patrons to put their name on a virtual queue in advance in order to save unnecessary wait time. I'm glad that in this modern society, we have a business actually willing to skirt the very much unnecessary psychological trap of more people waiting = good restaurant (though I admit this is a very effective trap). That's in theory. In reality, what Caesars Entertainment did was say "oh cool, but we have a lot of people here today, go to the end of the line." This is not okay. If you make a guarantee, no matter how difficult it is to do so, you have to follow through or at least offer some message of consolation. Rendering the virtual queue useless just because your physical queue is too long is not how this works. Extremely disappointed. I'm taking my business elsewhere. The strip is long. TIP: I prefer Wicked Spoon or Bellagio, good eats and don't go back on their word.
